Fashion Trend - Fun Link -

You may enjoy this link (below from Oprah Magazine) to see some of the fashion trends suggested for this spring.

Jaime King

Pattern Boldness

A colorful lace dress pairs smartly with a brightly striped blazer. "I love mixing blue and orange, lace and stripes," says former model King, 32. "You can be very daring in your choices with a modern '20s look."
Jaime King

Night and Day

Chunky jewelry and spectator brogues anchor floaty organza and silk. King, who started modeling at 14, says she learned about fashion from the greatest of teachers: the couture designers—Alexander McQueen, Karl Lagerfeld—who dressed her for the runway. "These amazing people taught me about fit and proportion."

Tip from O Creative Director Adam Glassman: Mix menswear-inspired pieces with feminine glamour—think cocktail rings, shoulder-baring tops—for the most modern look.

Mix Master

A graphic Art Deco–print skirt is paired with a cotton tunic and bright orange cardigan. Printed platform wedges (Call It Spring) add an unexpected (and up-to-the-minute) touch. "What I love about this outfit," says King, "is that it takes the silhouettes of the '20s and does them in fabrics, colors, and patterns that you can only have now."

Adam Says: Consider long-strand necklaces, especially if you have a larger bust—they visually elongate your torso.

Piece Makers

Signature '20s pieces—a feather boa, a slouchy top—are updated in an aqua and orange color scheme and Art Deco–meets-tribal accessories. A Jazz Age wavy bob and dramatic eyes complete the look. "The hair and makeup let you become a character, a different person in a beautiful way," says King.

Adam Says: This is not the time to go natural. Dark eyes, bright lips, and short hair with finger waves all look terrific with '20s fashion.

It's my birthday and I am going to live it up!

Yippee...it's my birthday and I LOVE birthdays.

Main reason - I make msyelf break my daily routine and do crazy things - like...well, I haven't an agenda yet - but I am sure I will do something fun here shortly.

And mostly, I love when my kids sing happy birthday to me and then I delve into eatting a big piece of a special-ordered* birthday cake.  (*Becuase I am not baking my own cake).

And as I sit here at the blog, I am also reminding myself how much I love working at KIMDESIGNS.

I truly hate to take a day off because I get so much satisfaction from what we do together collaboratively here at KD.

Okay - shamelessly, I wish myself a happy birthday and encourage you to join me...in doing something a bit unusual (like take a walk for 20 minutes) that we don't usually do on a daily basis.

I must close with some Birthday Art that I love.

Art collides with beauty in the stand-out line of lip and nail polish pens by laqa&co. The new brand aims to inspire and encourage young women to achieve their dreams by collaborating with up and coming artists whose custom designs adorn the packaging of the pens. Collaborators receive a portion of the profits on each item sold and their unique designs help to differentiate laqa&co. from the rest of their competitors. Each product has its own illustration so beware, as choosing between them is more than a challenge. You'll want them all!
