The attendance at the 3 day show was outstanding. Designers flocked the isles
searching for newness and excitement and they were not disappointed. The most
buzzed about trend was that of buying LOCAL. “People want to do business here
again and those who went abroad want to come back,” is what was on the minds of
so many designers. It’s a growing trend that we have already touched upon
before, but it continues to gain momentum.

Halloween Funny
My neighbor, Jo, sent me this "funny" via email - had to share via the KD Blog:
A TOUCHING HALLOWEEN STORY
A cabbie picks up a Nun. She gets
into the cab, and notices that the VERY handsome Cab driver won't stop staring
at her.
She asks him why he is staring.
She asks him why he is staring.
He replies: "I have a question to
ask you but I don't want to offend you."
She answers, "My son, you cannot offend me. When you're as old as I am and have been a nun as long as I have, you get a chance to see and hear just about everything. I'm sure that there's nothing you could say or ask that I would find offensive."
"Well, I've always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me"
She responds, "Well, let's see what we can do about that:
#1, You have to be single, and
#2, You must be Catholic."
The cab driver is very excited and says, "Yes, I'm single and Catholic!"
"OK" the nun says. "Pull over to the side of the road."
The nun fulfills his fantasy and gives him a big kiss.
But when they get back on the road, the cab driver starts crying.
"My dear child," says the nun, "why are you crying?"
"Forgive me but I've sinned. I lied and I must confess, I'm married and I'm Baptist."
The nun says, "That's OK. My name is Kevin and I'm going to a Halloween party.”

Hurricane Update from Winchester, Virginia
Good Morning All,
We received so many emails wishing us well through the recent
hurricane fury that I had to write – all seems okay (for the most part) in our
area.
I am just now seeing how things are for others via the
television reports.
We got off lightly – just high winds and lots of rain here in
Winchester, Virginia.
Those on the coast and in New York and New Jersey seem harder
hit.
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Today, we will get back to work full steam at KD.
