Cubed: Color Blocking

Color blocking is a trend that's really emerged in storm in the last couple months. It's popped up at many major runways and has emerged as a trend in interior decor. Color blocking is a great way to combine bright colors without looking over-the-top because the pattern is very minimalistic. Many articles of clothing and accessories come with the color block pattern already there, or if you want to recycle brights from past years, wear a bright solid top with a coordinating solid or striped bottom. For interior, add splashes of color with throw pillows or blankets in bright, vibrant colors, or paint a wall with panels of color in the same color family. If you prefer neutrals, you can create an interesting piece of art out of a wall by using shades in the brown, taupe and cream family to make your own color blocked pattern.
