Nicely and elegantly done!

My eight year old is learning cross-stitch in her 3rd grade class at school.

She has a very patient teacher that will help many students learn this stitch.

I love the art of putting thread to fabric.
This embroidery work is very inspirational.

Lilly Pulitzer - Passed away April 7, 2013

(From April 7, 2013):

Kim Note here:  In today's Washington Post, there is a great obituary written about Lilly Pulitzer.  It speaks on how she started out producing her famously garish-colored shifts/smocks.  Her line started with the need to cover up stains from the fresh fruits she was selling at her fruit stand. It was a great story about her life in fashion that had an accidental start.

From Lilly's FB page:

Early this morning, Lilly Pulitzer Rousseau passed away peacefully in Palm Beach, surrounded by family and loved ones. Lilly has been a true inspiration to us and we will miss her.

In the days and weeks ahead we will celebrate all that Lilly meant to us. Lilly was a true original who has brought together generations through her bright and happy mark on the world.

Love the art that Topflight used on these file folders:

Wow, so proud of Amit!

Amit designed these LOVELY pillows that will land in France / retail.
This is so awesome.

Amit is one of KD's longest contributing designers and like an extended family, I am so proud of all of us with such accomplishments in the industry that we all strive to be a part of.

Beautiful work Amit!

Sorry, couldn't help myself from posting this (non-relevant to design) image:

NedGraphics - Freelance Version

Hi Kim,

I hope all is well.

I wanted to reach out to let you know about NedGraphics new software offering.

NedGraphics is now selling a freelance version of our software for prints & repeats.

Perhaps you or any of your Designers submitting artwork would be interested?

Our freelance version of software is called NedEd and is the 3 core modules of our Fashion Studio software – (Color Reduction & Cleaning, Design & Repeat, and Easy Coloring) as they can take a print project from beginning to end – (color reduce down a scan, put the design into repeat, change the look of the design, then create colorways)  The cost for the NedEd software is $1,500 and would be theirs to keep.

Please note I have attached a brochure on our Fashion Studio modules for your review or that you can pass along to anyone interested.  (note the first 3 modules)

Please let me know if you have any questions or if anyone would be interested to see a quick software demonstration…

Best Regards,

Brian Neill

Fabulous websites to visit - thanks to Maureen for some great links:

If you have some spare time, you will want to visit these artist's sites listed below.
Maureen found them through Paradise City, in Marlborough MA.

Thanks to everyone that "feeds" us new inspiration for us all to savor.

From Maureen - websites to visit:

I loved this so I wanted to also share this from Maureen:

I have been wanting to tell you that if you do see a difference in my repeats it is because I have contracted in-house for a company that makes baby products for 4 months and have really learned all the ins and outs of making the designs perfect for production. Some of them were SO complicated...  It is thanks to you that they hired me!! You really got me going down the wonderful path of textile design and I am very grateful. I am freelancing from home now.
