Where do you live? Nashville TN
When did you realize you had a passion for art/design? I always wanted to be an artist, and when my fourth grade teacher encouraged me, I thought I might actually have something here.
Did you inherit your passion/artistic genetics from someone in your family? My mom, who loved to make displays for her classroom, and my father's mother, who had excellent taste.
What is one of your favorite design/art you have created?
Why this piece? I drew it slowly in soft pencil on newsprint, pieced it together in Photoshop, felt good about it, and then Billabong (sportswear) produced it!
Do you have a hobby outside creating/art? Anything outdoors: photographing n
ature, hiking, canoeing, and listening to indie music, just not all at the same time.
If you were a color, what color would you be? Why that color? The Pantone color of the year, whatever it may be :)
Favorite food? Grapes, fresh, or fermented
Favorite movie and/or book? Right now, the HBO series "True Blood."
A guilty pleasure? As above: "True Blood"
What would be your dream job? I've had a couple of dream jobs: a location scout for film/TV shows, an artist with my own print design business. It's all good in its own time.
If we showed up at your house unexpectandly on a Friday evening, what is something we would find you doing? Enjoying some chill time with grapes.
An interesting or funny fact about you that you’d be willing to share…? I'm a Phi Beta Kappa and I have a parrot who can imitate the sound of my suitcase zipping up.

How long have you been contributing to KD? since 2007.
Where do you live? (State, Country) I grew up in Hong Kong. I live in Toronto, Canada currently.
When did you realize you had a passion for art/design? My mom brought me to attend a drawing class every saturday when I was a child. At home, I liked to draw a girl with pretty dresses and cartoon characters. I think my art sense was started from there.
What is one of your favorite design/art you have created?
Why this piece? It looks fun, love, colorful, happy and a bit of childish.
Do you have a hobby outside creating/art? Travel and music.
If you were a color, what color would you be? Why that color? Turquoise. Calm and free.
Favorite food? Asian food such as sushi, sashimi, dumpling. Western food such as spaghetti and dessert tiramisu.
Favorite movie and/or book? "Amalie", "Who's The Woman, Who's The Man", "Citizen Dog"
A guilty pleasure? I liked travel to the place alone no matter was just a short trip. I felt refresh, excited and explored the things I would not never know. The bad thing was my parents and friends worried my safety.
What would be your dream job? Do what you love. Insist your dream comes true. It could also make a living at the same time.
If we showed up at your house unexpectandly on a Friday evening, what is something we would find you doing?
I might be taking shower, or eating a snack while watching news.

When did you realize you had a passion for art/design? Probably 2 or 3 years old when I always was in trouble for drawing on the walls...
Did you inherit your passion/artistic genetics from someone in your family? Yes, my whole family is full of creativeness from artist to musicians :)
What is one of your favorite design/art you have created?
Why this piece? It's one of many Good Times - Memories I got to share w/ my daughter Ashley before she passed away...
During the photo shoot for this project in Nashville, TN there where tornado warnings and sirens going
off the whole time which made it very interesting and exciting...
Do you have a hobby outside creating/art? Yes, Ghost Hunting and shooting guns...
If you were a color, what color would you be? Why that color? I would be Clover Green for better Luck...
Favorite food? BLT w/ Extra Bacon or Taco Salad...
Favorite movie and/or book? Movie "Forrest Gump" and Book "The Da Vinci Code"...
A guilty pleasure? Ice Cream or Cheese...
What would be your dream job? A Professional Cockroach Taxidermist or Tiki Bartender in the Florida Keys...

Footnote on Rod – Rod is one of KD’s first contributors and Rod has designed – as in product development – for many companies and many lines – from Bobble Heads to new clothing lines to Sunglasses.
Sadly, Rod suffered a tragedy about a year ago when his daughter, Ashley, perished after being severely burned in a fire at her college residence. A parent’s worst nightmare…

My mom was a kindergarden teacher and she took me with her to school at age of 4 and i would just play with colors and crayons and pencils and clay.

My dad is a writer/comedy, actor/stand up comedian and a director for a stage and mom love all crafts

Why this piece?
I simply love it. ...emotional attachment i guess

I love fashion design and painting, watching films, listening to Jazz

I love all colors----this one is hard to answer i love all earth tones more than other color groups

Indian food

'artist' the team of that movie did such an excellent job in black and white to recreate that era and convey the message with out a spoken word---wow??? what a film
A guilty pleasure? Mostly sugar in any form shape and color - but if i have to name one See's candy dark chocolate with marzipan, i better go get one today

Designing and coordinating all fabrics and styles in woven, prints with a signature line of swimwear and Lingerie and loungewear.
